Toss like a boss: Top tips for 5-star salads ⭐️🥗

Hello, salad lovers!

Whether you’re a fan of grains, greens, pasta, beans or the salads I call “The In-Betweens,” here are my Top 5 Tips for 5-Star Salads!

1. Get the tools of the trade:

  • A razor-sharp zester for lemon and lime zest and for grating ginger root and Parmesan. (I'm a big fan of OXO products).
  • A citrus squeezer for fresh juice.
  • And a sharp knife and cutting board.

Those are my salad-making must-haves.

2. Mix up your greens, and don’t settle for just iceberg and romaine. Try spring mix, kale, baby spinach, arugula and even shaved brussels sprouts.

And OTHER sprouts! Broccoli sprouts, pea shoots, etc.

3. Make it a meal!

4. Dress for success! Ditch those dull store-bought dressings and whip up your own masterpieces. Salads4lunch.com is overflowing with dressing ideas.

Stock up on a variety of oils and vinegars and you’ll be ready to whisk your way to salad heaven.

  • Salad needs more salt or pepper? Add it!
  • Prefer it spicier? Add some minced jalapeno.
  • Like your dressing tangier? All y’all could add more vinegar or lemon juice.

Salad success is now in your hands! So go forth and toss like a boss!

Happy soup making,
Janice
